[REALISE] No.203-3 DIY SHIP (the worst fake brand ever?)

As I was cleaning one of my closest drawers, I found this box of cheap LEGO knock-off which I remember I bought years ago, even before I made this blog.. but never really get to open nor build.

PRICE: 15PHP (US .28 cents)
Probably the cheapest item I have to date, just looking at the product's photograph on the box, you can totally say that the cheap price just fits the cheap materials used.


The box is just small, I think same size of those  cheap mini-sets from Enlighten which I reviewed before. I no longer have those boxes but here's the size comparison to other brands' packaging..

..the box of Sheng Yuan's Magneto set, and DLPT's Aquaman box compared to the size of this product. Now let's get to the box art..

:: Box Art
For some reason, the box is pink. At front, it says DIY SHIP, not sure if it 's the series name or the name of the mobile build. The back shows all the other builds you can buy, most of them has wheels with actual looking tires, unlike this one where as shown on the photograph, has 2 sets of four tireless looking whatever that is (must be used to float around highlands and green field mountains).

The sides shows the same product (now with river background), and the repeating "new packing", "easy to assemble", and "super transformers"... huh. Sounds promising. Let see if it lives those words..

:: What's Inside
It countains only one bag of building pieces.. and where's the instruction manual.. oh wait, its inside the bag.

So here are whats included inside the bag.. such poor quality plastic compared to other cheap mini set fakes.

I like that 6×4 green base plate though, I think I can use it as a stand for some of my solo mini figures if this set turns out a bust. And there's sticker for.. the minifig face and torso? Guess they arent printed, then.

A little piece of back-to-back printed instruction manual which says DIY TOY. And look.. so its called a Space Police? But why is it roaming over mountains and a river?

:: Mini Figure
The parts and pieces are obviously differently colored from the one shown on the box, and the mini fig.. has a different shape of piece for head, straight arm which already has hands, and the back of the legs is also different from the others.

Adding the face sticker somehow gave him life. Lets call him "Bui" it fits his looks.. so Bui kinda looks like wearing a red body suit under the white astro looking over-alls which says "Auto Min Duper Series.. R 24?" And instead of the helmet, Bui wears a baseball cap, which wont stay in his head.

Bui compared to the racer minifig  Racer of Companion's Super Car, and Scuba Diver of Jie-Star's Navy Seal. Based on quality of plastic material, those 2 obviously has the upper hand on.

:: Mini Build
Before building, had to separate the bricks by color like what I always do.. and since there's no instructions as to where the stickers should actually go, I just added the "5" seal to that white slope brick. I thought maybe it would look nice as a race car number, then I remember its supposed to be (I still dont know).. any way..

here it is.. pretty disappointed on how it turns out. The color just doesnt work, which, again, is different from the colors on the box..

Looks like a rover or like a rock field crawler. And where is its driving wheel or control sticks? How is it supposed to work? Its hard to take photo of this mobile because  it easily falls apart.

Those red cones for bumper just wont stay on its place. And the orange pieces that holds the gray cylinder wheels are painful to work with. I almost crashed the whole build with my closed fist out of fustration.. Bui, just get on it and take a seat so we can and this review already.

Ok, so you get attitude too? Bui falls apart easily when you bend his legs to sitting position.

And thats it. If I want to keep this and be displayed with my other cheap mini sets, I wouldhave to Kraggle everything to its place. Oh wait, lets do some new builds first..

What do you guys think? I cant come up with other designs since the parts are really giving me pain. And its not even the good one.

:: Over-all Verdict
Out of 10 shits, I gave this crap like 78 bad words while working with it. I had to crawl down my work table to get pieces falling from time to time while building that crappy mobile. this is a total waste of time. And that's 15 pesos from many years ago that I wont be getting back.

The pieces keeps on falling apart, wont fit other brands' pieces making it more than useless, and even the green plate which I planned to use stand for my other minifigs wont also work. I'll just throw everything inside Kuto's egg shell to incubate them so they'll grow to something useful. Or better yet..

..everything goes back to the plastic bag and box and back to my drawer, like nothing happened and I didnt really found it.
