I'm not only fascinated by the Chima themed knock offs and bootlegs now, cause ever since the release of The Lego Ninjago Movie, I've been wanting to collect different minifigures and set from the Ninja theme too!! I know I'm a little too late but, here to start my new collection..
I got 2 loose mini figures from different brands and sets!! I also got a bigger build from another brand but I'll get to that some other day. And since these guys are from 2 different brands, I'll make a separate review for them in one post! Starting with...
Welcome to the all new and improved The Poor Collector's cabinet of bootleg bricks and minifigure reviews! Enjoy!

JUNE 2018 HAUL!! Super Heroes, Ninja, Star Fighter, and a Mixels rip-off?? [Variuous Brands]
BACK IN BIZ
I'm finally back to collecting and reviewing bootlegs and rip-offs of LEGO minifigures and sets.. well, I didnt actually stopped collecting, I just took a long rest from blogging. But thanks to some encouraging by my college friend, EJ, and from someone special who shows much support to my writing and blogging, but not much to toy collecting 😅😅 I'm all back.. hopefully. LOL
JUNE 2018 HAUL
I did had some bootlegs joining my collection while I'm away from blogging, and now that I decided to get back to doing reviews, I got some new (not really) items for my future posts!! Went to Ayala Fairview Terraces to get some minifigures and sets of different brands..
SONNY's TOY ART (finds)
One of my favorite hobby stores in Fairview Terraces, not only they sell cheap LEGO rip-offs, but their gallery of custom action figures and pop culture statues are to die for. In this store, I got...
Some loose Justice League and bootleg Ninjago minifigure boxes from LELE, DECOOL, and Duo Le Pin Toys. DLPT is my new fave brand. Also from DLPT are 2 sets of Super Heroes builds from Spider-Man Homecoming movie. Heroes Assemble's Magneto with Jet Fighter (I dont know wat its called, I dont read chinese) from Sheng Yuan (SY). And Ninja Thunder Swordsman also from SY.
These ones, I was a little disappointed.. not because of the brand or the sets themselves.. but because their set builds can be combined with other builds from the same series, but I unfortunately just found out about it now, and I didnt picked the right partners.. 😢😢 more about it once I made the review entry for this blog!!
These are the minifigs. 2 different brands of Ninjago rip-offs, Wu and evil looking Nya. And I didnt gave a closer look before I bought them, but I just found out Wonder Woman and Aquaman comes with a mini-build karts!! 😂

I always wanted to get these Ninja boxes because of the simple build dragons included. I think here are 4 designs but I only got the white dragon, with white ninja, Cole. god, I hope it is him. because you'll never know with these fake brands, until you open the box, and all the letters on the box are in chinese. 😣

And so does Master Wu!! So cool, he comes with a mini-build white dragon. wonder how it looks compared to Zane's.
METRO DEP. STORE (finds)
The toy section of this department store not only has real deal LEGO products and other authentic stuff in it, but they also sell low quality brands and bootlegs!! Talk about diversity, hahaha.
I however only bought 2 items from the toy section, because they are still pretty pricey compared to other stores, and I just know they are sold almost half the price by other sellers. I just didnt want to wsste my time visiting it so I got a Mixels replica stored in a plastic egg container, I think its called Wange Monsters, maybe, its brand is WANGE. And a Star Fighter mini build with an Astronaut minifigure from JUBILIX.
So excited to open them all!! I'll surely make a review for all of them, complete with unboxing photos. Infact.. I already started opening some. And first ones that will receive a review post...
😊😊😊 for the mean time.. enjoy my previous posts from 2 years ago!! Hehe

[DECOOL] 0184-0189 Super Heroes - DC's Batman & MARVEL's X-Men [TBR]
TBR - THROWBACK REVIEW
This set of mini-figs is O-L-D. first came out like eons ago, and I had this a year now. This review was planned last year, but I only got the time to post it now. I bought this set for the Storm mini-fig, I'm a huge X-Men sucker. but if you are a fan of Batman series, this set is a great grab, it has 2 versions of Batman and a movie version of Catwoman.
DIFFERENT VERSIONS
So what else makes this set a great must have, besides being a cheap copy of original LEGO mini-figure, and the different versions base on different comic universes? ... I can't think of anything else really LOL they're great no matter what. Anyway, since most sets comes with different versions of the character (particularly the Iron Man and Spiderman mini-figs), I thought maybe we should try cracking the history of the mini-figs' version design.
*UPDATE* I included the images of the hero's version I believe the mini-fig design was based on.
VERSION: With the yellow and brown sleeveless costume, I'm guessing this is base on the classic Wolverine from the 1980s Uncanny X-Men series. this mini fig is the Jim Lee design, the one that lacks the sharp claw-like motif on the costume. You know what I mean about the claw-like motif, the one with blue instead of brown color is more popular with those design.
THE FIG: The classic Wolverine mini-fig has a simpler design compared to the movie versions and the other ones I've been seeing all over the web. I like the print of the body, but the red belt isn't clean. also, there are miscoloration or scratches on the black of helmet was already there when I had it.
VERSION: Ok, at first I have no idea which Magneto is this mini-fig was based on, but after further research, I finally get one universe closest to Magneto wearing red cape, instead of purple - Age of Apocalypse. he also wear red cape in Mutant X, but his helmet is purple in that one.
THE FIG: Nicely painted, unlike the Wolverine one. and it comes with a round piece and clear cylinder pieces, to make Magneto look like he is riding a metal plate and floating in the air, which is one of his iconic poses if you ask me.
VERSION: This mini-fig is based on Selina Kyle from The Dark Knight Rises movie in 2012, played by Anne Hathway. I don't think she was ever referred to as "Catwoman" in the film, but Selina Kyle is the alter-ego of Catwoman in some universe.
THE FIG: I don't think this Catwoman has an original LEGO version, I can't find any pics on the internet to compare to this one. the box art though shows her having a whip, but instead it came with 2 guns. She does used guns in the movie, but I think it will look cooler with the whip.
VERSION: This mini-fig is based on The Dark Knight film trilogy. I read *somewhere that the original LEGO of this mini-fig comes with the Tumbler, which is the Bat-mobile from the film trilogy. it's really nice that this Batman and the Catwoman on this set came from the same universe, and they are movie version, which adds more bars on the awesomeness. *My Brick Store
THE FIG: That little piece of plastic on top of the helmet is really bothering me. every time I look at it, it gives me itch. JUST LOOKING AT IT WHILE TYPING THIS, I can't help it.. like.. right after this post is done, I'm gonna go and get rid of it. oh and this mini-fig comes with one bat boomerang. I'm not sure what that is, I'm not really a fan of Batman, maybe it's a boomerang. And I'm pretty sure Batman's cape in the trilogy has no sharp lay designs like those.
VERSION: According to Wikipedia, this Batman is the alien Tlano from Zur-En-Arrh. Also known as Batman of Zur-En-Arrh. the character first appeared in the story, Batman - The Superman of Planet X. Robin had wore this Batman suit, which attracts the attention of the enemies, differing to the emo Dark Knight, which attacks enemies in the dark.
THE FIG: The original LEGO fig of BATMAN of Zur-En-Arrh was a San Diego Comic Con exclusive, and it has flat cape, and no sharp details below, though some images of this Batman shows he does have spiky cape. It also has a baseball bat weapon, but this one comes with a silver Batman "boomerang". I like the color of this Batman, even though I'm not really familiar with it's history. when you find out it is a total opposite of the real Batman, it's even crazier.
VERSION: This Storm is based on the Uncanny X-Men version. This costume of hers has many variants, with the abdomen part had been through many changes. One of my favorite female X-Men, and one of my fave X-Men universe. My top pick Storm version is the one she's wearing the white suit, from the animated series in the 90s. I think it is also a Jim Lee design.
THE FIG: The hair mold is similar to most female super hero mini-figs, but of course this one is white. her alternate face print is really funny, but since she is known for that iconic white eyes when using her powers, I chose to use it instead. The fig also comes with 2 transparent lightning shape pieces, in purple, which represents her weather control powers. and her cape is placed similar to how it is supposed to look like in the comics. The only thing missing is her headpiece.
LAST THOUGHTS
First of all, sorry I didn't have a picture of all six of them in one picture, I took these images over a year ago. As I said, I only bought this set for the X-Men figures, and maybe that what I thought "Batman in alternate color". but it turned out to be a really good catch. It came with 2 movie version figures, a Batman figure based on SDCC exclusive, and a Magneto with its face properly printed!! Yes, I got another Magneto from different set and its face was printed upside down! I'm telling you I was really furious when I found out. Anyway, if you are a X-Men fan, go a head and get this set, I think there are only few knocked-off sets that has this Storm mini fig, I think Sheng Yuan has it also. and again, if you are a Batman fan, then this set isn't that waste too.
There you go! I hope I redeemed myself even a little, for missing the blog for a year!! HAHA I promise I will post more. I'll try!

[DECOOL] 0175-0180 Guardians of the Galaxy Set + 0198 Groot
The Guardians of the Galaxy set from DECOOL consists 6 character mini-figures, the four main character, excluding Groot, and super villains, Nebula and Ronan. DECOOL has this style of excluding characters with bigger scale on sets, and selling them separately, in this case, our beloved forest alien, Groot. I got both the set and the macro-fig (or big fig, whatever) and today's the review day:
I think the Groot figure is kinda out of scale? maybe Groot is showcasing his powers to grow on to abnormal size? But still, the figure is cool. More stuff about Groot below, but first, let's have a look at the GotG set of 6 mini-figures:
| "we are...... Groot" |
0175-0180 GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Set of 6
This set came with Drax, Ronan, Star-Lord, Gamora, Nebula, and Rocket Raccoon.
PETER QUILL / STAR-LORD
No expectations failed on this one. the fig came with both Star-Lord's helmet and Quill's hair, for story-play purposes. It also have 2 transparent yellow cylinder for Star-Lord to stand on so it will make him look like he is flying, and two Elemental Guns? in case you lose one, there's always a spare. 10/10 for the alternate hair and extra gun.
GAMORA
Gamora has black long hair, with purple streaks, rather than a complete purple hair, but it still looks nice and accurate. They did not made new mold for Gamora's actual sword and instead included 2 silver samurai swords, and she also have the prison suit on, like Peter, instead of her sexy black outfit.
DRAX THE DESTROYER
Drax looks a little smaller than his fellow mini-figs, despite the fact that he actually have huge body build in comics and in movie. Batista's body, hello? I think they should make big-fig version of Drax. He also comes with 2 throwing knives. I know DECOOL is only copying what LEGO releases, but I think they can do better, make a big-fig for Drax!
Before anything else, I just want to point out that this set is based on the movies. how can I tell? because Drax has green skin in the original comics, and they (MCU) only made his skin gray in the movies to avoid similarities to Hulk.
ROCKET RACCOON
What I like about this Rocket Raccoon is that he is in really good scale with other mini-figures. Also, one of the reasons I got DECOOL, is because Rocket Raccoon's tail in SY set is missing in action. Only flaw I think is the gun, It doesn't look that appealing, It doesn't look like the Ion Cannon.
NEBULA
Blue-skinned Nebula, looks good. The silver arm which suppose to act as Nebula's cybernetic arm is nice. And her top outfit print is accurate to the one she wore in the Movie. Just like her adoptive sister, Gamora, she has 2 samurai swords.
RONAN THE ACCUSER
Ronan the Kree, rather, also looks accurate to his movie version. only the silver printing in his outfit does is a little off, it should be a little darker. and his weapon is totally fine. The cape, I have split thoughts. I think the cape should not be that wide, but again, DECOOL is only following what LEGO released, so..
And that's all the 6 mini-figres that is included in this set release. Now for the separate released Groot..
0198 GROOT
This big-fig Groot, as I said before, is too big. he is even bigger to the big-figs of Hulk/The Thing/Juggernaut, he stands like twice the taller than them. So I guess, he is too-off, when it comes to scale. But I think it's fine, kids loves Groot, and with this figure, I think it will satisfy them, from the absence of Groot on the GotG set of 6.
My other issue is his lack of movements, he can only move his arms up-and-down, and twist turn his hands. The head does not rotate, so does his long legs. And the figure did not came with a stand-base. Here is another pic of the whole Guardians of the Galaxy set with Groot:
LAST THOUGHTS
The DECOOL set that I got does not contain trading cards nor the instruction manual, despite it's supposedly inclusion was clearly stated on the box. I know I got this still brand new, because the boxes are still mint closed, and the figures are still sealed. meeeh, who cares about the damn trading cards, I'm all up for the minifigs.
Mabe the kids who are getting these both for the minifigs and trading cards will be a little disappointed if they also got a set that thus not include either, but the enjoyment really comes from the minifigures.
SY has 8 minifigures, it has Groot, who is only slight bigger than the other characters, which will pass great scale, a Nova Corp figure, and a Sakaaran, but it does not have Nebula. so I'm only getting that set for Groot, N.C fig, and Sakaaran. Also, it has several bricks which I can use for diorama, which this set does not have.. and to expand my Guardians of the Galaxy mini-figures a bit more, I will also have The Collector, from another superhero set from DECOOL.
ROCKET RACCOON
What I like about this Rocket Raccoon is that he is in really good scale with other mini-figures. APRIL HAUL- Super Heroes and Chima [Sheng Yuan] [DECOOL]
Finally got my first haul, which I will feature in this blong on the coming days/week.
bought everything from online store, Jsatoys. They have all knockoffs, so if you are from Philippines, visit their facebook page.
I got the Avengers set, Chima 4 and some super heroes set from SY, another super heroes set and the Guardians of the Galaxy set from DECOOL, as well as macrofigs of Juggernaut and Groot, also from DECOOL, and a regular gray base plate, which I thought is big enough to hold all these character minifigs I just got, but the space is not enough, so I'm going to get more of that soon.
I'll be making reviews for these, as well as alternate diorama builds, like what I did for Fantastic Four set, if there are enough parts, but I think only Chima 4 has those parts I can use for dioramas. the superheroes sets came with collector cards.
